Hello there!

I am a retired Systems Engineer.

Graduated with an honours degree (BSc) in Operational Research & Computing, I spent most of my working life in IT (financial sector and later with an ISP).

Currently live in Bangkok with my lovely wife, a 7 year-old nephew, and an adopted black Soi cat.

I like backgammon, and I like flying the Slingsby T67M
I like the smell of watercolour painting
But what I like more than all of these
Is to be on FreeBSD.

Oh - I like slide rules too - but it didn’t fit the tune “On Horseback” by Mike Oldfield.

Systems:-

• Laptop - FreeBSD + EMWM (Enhanced Motif Windows Manager) - main workhorse, and trusty machine!
• Desktops - FreeBSD + i3
• Home server - FreeBSD + Bhyve for VMs
• Playground/lab - Arduino, Raspberry Pi
